The Inception

The seeds of Morrokenz were sown in the heart of Safi, a city steeped in ceramic heritage. Omar Jaghnane El Idrissi, the founder, was raised by a mother who instilled in him a deep appreciation for their Mesfioui heritage and the artistry of Safi's pottery. Each visit to this ancient city, with its vibrant ceramics market, ignited conversations between mother and son about the potential for sharing these unique creations with the world.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to Safi's artisans. With tourism at a standstill, over 3,000 potters faced economic hardship, their livelihoods hanging in the balance. Witnessing this crisis firsthand, Omar felt a profound responsibility to act. He saw an opportunity to leverage technology and his passion for Moroccan craftsmanship to create a platform that would support local artisans and introduce the beauty of their work to a global audience.

Driven by a mission to preserve tradition and empower artisans, Morrokenz was born. The platform serves as a bridge between the talented potters of Safi and a world eager to discover the artistry of Moroccan ceramics.

Inspiraion

A visit to the bustling ceramics market in Safi sparked the idea for Morrokenz. Observing the innovative spirit of local artisans who were blending traditional techniques with modern designs, the founder was struck by a thought: "Why not share this beautiful evolution of Moroccan ceramics with the world?"

Safi, renowned as the heart of Moroccan ceramics, is home to artisans who possess a deep understanding of their craft and are also keenly attuned to the preferences of a global audience.
